What do we do?
“Northwest Allen Trails, Inc. is dedicated to
the research and development
of safe, multiuse trails
in Northwest Allen County, Indiana,
to connect communities and activity nodes,
provide an alternate, safe means of transportation,
encourage healthy lifestyles,
and preserve greenspace and wildlife habitat.”
Who are we?
Northwest Allen Trails, Inc. is many volunteers, residents and business people who want to promote, plan, and help maintain a multi-use trail system linking neighborhoods, parks and businesses. This will be a natural parkway connecting to the Fort Wayne Greenway system—an opportunity to encourage health and fitness of residents, preserve history and reconnect our neighborhoods utilizing infrastructure opportunities that would otherwise disappear in time. The main corridors would consist of two former rail lines, the New York Central and the Grand Rapids and Indiana. The paths will be completely wheelchair accessible.
